The roll out of this new collection service means residents in Glasgow will be able to recycle even more of their household waste while at the same time help reduce the amount we currently send to landfill.

Bailie McDougall said: "Collecting food waste from a mix of property types across the city is a mammoth operation and will be done in two phases starting with kerbside properties followed by multi-storey, flats and tenements. We hope to have every household in Glasgow recycling their food waste. We are committed to helping residents recycle as much as they can to support the Scottish Government's ambitious target of achieving 70 per cent recycling across Scotland by 2025"
