Bringing Hope: CCG and IRUK’s Food and Qurbani Meat Giveaway
In a heartwarming display of community spirit and generosity, CCG in partnership with Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) recently organised a significant food parcel and Qurbani meat giveaway, providing much needed support to local families. Over two days, June 26th and 27th, a dedicated team worked tirelessly at the CCG's Ladymuir premises to pack 100 food parcels. These parcels were then distributed from three CCG locations—Ladymuir, Beltrees, and Tiffin—during the first week of July.
This initiative could not have come at a more opportune time. The food parcels filled with essential items, aimed to alleviate the pressures faced by families struggling to make ends meet. Each parcel contained a variety of staples such as rice, pasta, canned goods, and toiletries, ensuring that recipients had access to nutritious and balanced meals.
Additionally, the giveaway included Qurbani meat, which holds significant cultural and religious importance for the Muslim community. Qurbani, an act of sacrifice performed during the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha, involves the slaughtering of an animal and distributing the meat to those in need. By incorporating Qurbani meat into the parcels, we ensured that families could partake in this important tradition, even in challenging times.
The packing and distribution of these parcels were a collaborative effort involving staff and volunteers. On distribution day, the excitement and gratitude were palpable. Families arrived at the CCG locations in Ladymuir, Beltrees, and Tiffin, where they were warmly greeted by staff and volunteers. For many, this gesture of kindness was a sense of connection and support.
The feedback from recipients has been overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed their heartfelt thanks, noting that the food parcels and Qurbani meat have made a significant difference in their lives. The initiative has also highlighted the importance of community-led efforts in addressing local needs and fostering a spirit of unity and compassion.
Islamic Relief UK's generous donation and the tireless work of the staff
and volunteers at CCG's premises are a testament to the power of collective action. The successful distribution of 100 food parcels and Qurbani meat underscored the impact of charitable initiatives in uplifting communities. This event provided immediate relief to families and reinforced the enduring value of empathy, generosity, and community support.
