Crookston Community Group has been working hard in preparation for our Chand Raat event, our new chef has been showing our staff and volunteers some cooking skills in the kitchen. Our staff member Shannon has learned over the last few days how to make tasty spring rolls! And has prepared several tasty rolls for our event. We have been super busy here at Tiffin, we are giving our premises a floral touch by adding lots of decorations to our swings, container and front door. Tiffin has a new chef with us, we are super excited about her cooking classes coming soon and her delicious lunches have went down a treat!
Good afternoon friends! We are super excited to show you what we have been up to. Firstly our refurb at Bella-Rose Hall is going great, we have added beautiful flowers to our swing set, container and front of building and moved more equipment into our container in preparation for our juice bar. The party was busy and full of fun. All of the children enjoyed the burgers and pizza. For some children this was the first time coming to a party and they found it difficult to state what was the favourite part of the party but face painting and the magician were favourite pastimes.
Adult X has been volunteering for 4 months and was given the task of looking after the reception area and stamping the guests in. She enjoyed this opportunity to practice her communication skills with others and learned more about the families that CCG support.
Children C, D and E came to volunteer for the first time. They are in the senior phase of secondary school and were looking for work experience. They got the opportunity to learn about punctuality, having responsibility and how to follow instructions. They also enjoyed the food that was on offer and meeting new people.
