CCG Starts Refurbishment of New Premises with Safe Removal of Asbestos Tiles
CCG is pleased to announce that we have started work on refurbishing our newly leased premises. As part of our plans to create a safe and modern office space, we have removed floor tiles that are believed to contain asbestos, a material commonly used in buildings from the 1970s.
What is Asbestos?
Like many buildings from the 70s, the new premises may have asbestos-containing materials in the original construction, particularly in the floor tiles. During that time, asbestos was widely used because it was strong, resistant to heat, and provided good insulation. However, we now know that asbestos can be harmful if disturbed, as its fibres can become airborne and be inhaled, leading to health risks.
At CCG, our top priority is the health and safety of our staff and visitors. This is why we are taking careful steps to address any risks associated with asbestos before beginning any major renovation work.
Safe Removal of Asbestos
Before starting the refurbishment, we carried out a detailed survey of the premises to check for asbestos. Testing confirmed that some of the floor tiles may contain asbestos. We are now working with professional, licensed asbestos removal specialists to ensure these materials are safely removed.
The asbestos removal process will follow strict safety guidelines, including:
- Seal off areas where asbestos is found to stop fibres from spreading.
- Using proper protective equipment and tools.
- Disposing of the asbestos materials according to the regulations.
This will ensure that the refurbishment can go ahead safely, protecting both workers on-site and people nearby.
Creating a Safe and Modern Workplace
Refurbishing the new premises is an important step for CCG as we continue to grow. We want to create a modern, comfortable, and above all, safe working environment for everyone. The removal of asbestos is just the first part of a larger plan to upgrade the building to meet today’s high standards for safety and comfort.
Once the asbestos is safely removed, we will install new flooring and continue making improvements to the office space. These changes will help create a better workplace for our staff and a welcoming space for our clients.
Looking Forward
We are excited to see the transformation of our new premises as the refurbishment progresses. CCG is committed to keeping everyone updated throughout the project.
By taking action now to safely remove asbestos and modernise the building, we are ensuring a bright future for all who will use the space. We look forward to sharing more news as the project moves ahead!
