The young person is growing up in Govan, at the moment, does not have the same chance in the life, like someone, who is living in (for example) Bearsden. At Crookston Community Group we know, sometimes the people do not have any friends or family, so they just need support from the local community.
The food bank is not just for homeless people, it is for people, who works as well. The low wages and zero hour contract can effect the people’s monthly budget. In our food bank we have different peoples, young mothers with two children with no food and elder people with no family. Sometimes it is the only place, where they can go to ask some help.
The families with the financial difficulties are usually struggling emotional problems as well. The poverty is not just about the hunger and the money anymore. It is a serious mental health issue too.
