Vegware launches new Scotland-wide collection service for catering disposables

The Edinburgh compostable packaging manufacturer's 'close the loop' service with pick up its products and food waste from clients to be turned into compost.

The Edinburgh-based company, which makes compostable food and drink packaging, said the new 'Close the Loop' service will pick up used Vegware packaging products and food waste from clients across Scotland to be processed into high-grade horticultural compost.

delivering the service across the central belt and west of Scotland in a partnership with Cauda for processing at GP Green Recycling's industrial composting facility near Glasgow.

The company has also set up zero waste systems to manage collections for corporate clients across Britain, including in London, to also provide pick-up and composting services.

Clients already signed up in Scotland include the Glasgow Science Centre and independent Edinburgh cafes Union of Genius and Pumpkin Brown.
