More than 8 years providing help for people in need 🙏
The charity CCG Crookston community group has chosen us, we did not choose it. Well what does that mean big man? 8 years ago we gave out food to people in Pollok just behind the fire station from the back of our y reg ford galaxy 7 seater. Food that would have gone to landfill was donated to us by a very kind manager at a big store -3 trolleys of it and we could not believe that so much food goes to waste every day in the UK. ANYWAY. WEE MAN. CCG foodbank was born and when people like Joanne Lamont, Humza Yousaf David McDonald and many many more heard about how local people who had suffered many hardships themselves had come together to help others they all wanted to contribute as much as possible. Joanne will remember giving certificates to CCG class children, Humza will remember rolling his sleeves up and making food parcels in Govanhill with CCG for the Roma community and David will remember supporting our art club which attracted local area budget funds
IT HAS BEEN A JOURNEY
Well Donald wheres your trousers? My name is not Donald its Tariq and sometimes i don't know where my trousies are but the kindness and camaraderie i have witnessed while volunteering in this great but humble charity will provide me sweet memories in my later years so.
The ford Galaxy got very tired after around 3 years of heavy loads of food so had to be sent to the knackers yard and Eddie Hawthorn from Arnold Clark gifted the charity a new van. Fandabbidozeeeeee. Another van has been gifted by our friends the clothworkers. The foodbank receives referrals now from over 50 Glasgow wide organisations and has a team of 25 volunteers picking up food sorting bagging delivering and in these times of covid-19 our work has quadrupled meaning we are even more thankful to have been chosen by CCG for this work.
TO BE CONTINUED AFTER BOBBY GETS OUT OF THE SHOWER🙄
