One of our regular customers at from the food share came to get a food hamper, she is a grandmother with 4 daughters and was collecting for her grandchildren. She comes each week to our food share and had come to the foodbank as well. She said having so many hungry kids at home cost so much money. She said that an everyday phrase from the kids in her house was ‘I’m hungry, I’m hungry, I’m hungry’ and it all costs a lot of money and adds. The kids are growing and because of being stuck at home during the pandemic, they are all eating lots. All these little bits help so much, whether its tins of soup or extra bits. Her family had been self-isolating due to covid and so hadn’t felt comfortable going out too much. These kinds of help go so far.
