Child of Britain Award: Winner volunteer for Crookston Community Group
The Child of Britain Awards 2022 celebrates the inspirational achievements of remarkable young people across Britain, whilst simulataneously raising funds for Cash for Kids, a UK charity dedicated to helping children and young people. The awards ceremony will take place in London on 24th June in Grosvenor House, London.
Amina Ali who is a volunteer with Crookston Community Group was nominated in the category of Environmental Champion. Whilst Amina did not make it through to the final three nominees who get to attend the awards, she was recognised by the Child of Britain organisation and received a certificate or merit in recognition of her hard work and commitment to environmental issues.
Amina started early in her volunteering activities. Agec 6, she helpher her mum, Nasreen to pick up surplus food from local shops to help the foodbank that CCG run. This led to an interest in reducing waste and she has gone on to work with the Forestry Commission collectin rubbish that accumulates in areas of natural beauty.
Amina is an inspiration to all of the volunteers who work for CCG. Congratulations to her!
