We get by with a little help from our friends

CCG work with many partner organisations in the community, one of them being the local NHS services. This week we were fortunate enough to have two Health Visitor students come along as spend some time with us to see who we are, what we do and get to know the community they will be working in. Today we recieved a lovely email from one of them,

"Dear Karen and the team at CCG,

Thank you so much for allowing me to come along and see just a tiny bit of all the amazing work you do. The volunteers at CCG are a credit to their community and it was lovely to be able to come talk to them and hear their stories.

It was really interesting to see the pantry and how this is used by the community and the help it gives them, no questions asked. The volunteers work incredibly hard to not only ensure the pantry runs smoothly but to try and get to know the people who come along every week and provide a friendly, supportive face.

The service you provide with the food bank is incredible, ensuring as many people as possible have access to food, toiletries, pet food and formula.

It was eye opening to hear all your stories about working or volunteering with CCG, particularly following the coronavirus pandemic and during the cost of living crisis. No one should ever be put in that position but having CCG to help is making a huge difference to families during an incredibly challenging time.

Thanks again for having me along and taking the time to show me all the amazing work you do, especially to Dan, Lee and Liz!

Many Thanks,

Kirsty "

Thank you Kirsty for spending the day with us and seeing first hand how impostant the services we offer are. And especially for noticing how amazing our volunteer team is, we couldnt do what we do without them! We at CCG wish you every success in your studies and look forward to working with you in our community in the near future.
