

Two CCG Volunteers feed their communities
The CCG has a team of volunteers who give up their own time to collect excess food, They collect this food from restaurants and shops like Cosmo and The Co-Op. This week two of our volunteers managed to feed more than 25 people. By distributing this food within their own local communities.They are saving it from going to landfill and feeding the people within their communities who need it the most. Food made using Foodshare
The Foodshare Project is a project that the CCG put into place to help tackle the food wastage crisis that we are facing. Working with Fairshare we collect a wide verity of food and with a little creativity the people who get the food have made some amazing dinners.

Today Mr wilfred took the excess food he got from Cosmo Silverburn and the Co-Op to a local homeless shelter. All this Food would've went to landfill but thanks to our dedicated volunteers this food managed to goto people who need it. Youth & Philanthropy Initiative
The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is a programme run by the wood foundation, with the goal of making young people aware of local social issues and involving them in philanthropy. This programme is delivered in Scotland’s schools and has engaged more than 140,000 young people in social issues within their communities. Use of food banks in Scotland hits record high
The use of food banks in Scotland has hit a record high after soaring by 17 per cent in the past year, according to research published today Food banks across the nation distributed 170,625 three-day emergency food packages to people in crisis in the year to April, of which more than 55,000 went to children. Glasgow city centre is one of UK's poorest areas
Glasgow is among the UK's poorest constituencies, according to a new report. The End Child Poverty Coalition, made up of charities, faith groups and trade unions, said that 45% of children in the city centre were living in poverty. Glasgow Central appears 12th on a list of 20 constituencies, which is otherwise dominated by communities in London, Birmingham and Manchester. West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine had the fewest children in poverty at 9.2%. The Coalition calculated th
